  • NOTD - ALICE IN WONDERLAND

As you all know, OPI launched the Alice in Wonderland collection and I have been late, so so late in snatching up somerthing from this collection.
I'm a bit disappointed that there are only four shades and that two of them are just red.
But one of them did manage to impress me.  Yes, I am talking about Mad As A Hatter.  This is an insane multi-colored glitter polish in a clear base.  The glitter is so densely packed that it took me only 2 coats to achieve full coverage.

This picture isn't doing this colour any justice.  It's so sparkly in real life that I keep getting distracted at my own nails, haha : )
I think this colour is sold out almost everywhere I've went to.  A polish-holic always has her ways though ;)

    //Edit//
It chipped in two days!  I'm talking major chunks peeling off, not minor dents.

  • NOTD - Sparkliness!!

How many times have you loved the colour of a bottle of nail polish, only to realize that the formula is too sheer for you to ever get that bottle colour?

Exhibit (A): L'oreal Pro Manicure Nail Polish in Party Hop.
Drives me crazy.  Anything that needs 3 coats or more will drive me crazy.

Doesn't it look completely opaque in this picture?
Yes - it does look like the fine sparkles in a sheer lavender base could not cause any trouble.  But it does.

My solution to sheerness?  I applied a layer of OPI Done Out in Deco & used Party Hop as a "top coat".  It darkened Done Out in Deco, and one thin layer was enough to give this beautiful shimmery effect!

I did notice that this polish hybrid chipped faster than if I were to use Done Out In Deco or Party Hop alone.

My camera sucks at picking up the shimmer but I assure you, it is so lovely in person.

  • RANDOM - What's In Your Bag

Are you the type to carry only what you need or do you carry everything "just in case"?

I'll let you judge what type I am, haha.

Look at my free tote bag!  This will have to do until I manage to save up and get the Chanel bag that I want (sometime in the very distant future, I'm sure).

    1. Keys.  I hate yellow keys.  I lost my silver ones and I can't believe some moron actually kept them when he found them.  Pssh, like you can open anything...  The jewelled B and the Barbie keychain are related to my nickname.  A rabbit key cover so I can tell which key opens what door.
Am I the only person who carries keys in my hand when  I walk home late at night so I can use it to stab someone in the eye - just in case?

    2. Pink Blackberry which I love muchos.  I want to keep it for life because I doubt I'll ever find something better.

    3.  Ipod nano that came out very long ago.  Oh, and the menu button is broken, stupid thing.  It's still the key to surviving long bus rides.

    4.  Kleenex.  You will need this or someone you know will need this (e.g., that girl who sits beside you in lecture who keeps sniffling really loud and screwing with your concentration).  Trust me.

    5. Mirror - the magnifying kind.  If that doesn't help you see yourself, then you are probably too drunk and should probably go home  now.  There is also a hairclip on top of the mirror.  I can't see how that relates to getting drunk.

    6.  Inside this candy tin you will find my favorite mints - Excel Peppermint Mints!

    7.  Gold Guess wallet.  Contains more cards than cash.

    8.  Green RSVP pen.  I love these pens.  My exboyfriend left his at my house when we were doing homework together in grade 12 and the rest is history (that was a joke because we were studying History12 together.  Not funny? Sigh okay).

    9.  Purple clipboard keeps paper from getting wrinkled  I can't stand wrinkled paper.  I decorated it with my art work too :)

    10.  Lip products.  I need at least two in case I lose one and go into a hysteric fit of panic: jumbo vanilla Lipsmackers, MAC Lipglass in Cultured, Korres Lipbutter in Quince.

    11.  H20.  Water is good.  Sugary drinks are bad.

    12.  Sumi is not really in my bag but he's hanging from it which means he should be included!

  • REVIEW - Korres Lip Saver Roll

Want chapped lips to be a thing of the past? And do you really want to be eating all those chemicals in your lipstick & glosses?  Ick, probably not.

    Try this:
Korres Lip Saver Roll. This roll contains 3 of Korres' pretty, smell-good lip butters/balm.  You could get one for $13cad but why not get all 3 for $25?  That's practically getting one for free!

Isn't the packaging cute?  I swear one day I'm going to bust that zipper though...

Let's get to the goodies, shall we?
Pomegranate: sheer coral, Jasmine: pale pink, Quince: sheer rose
All the lip butters contain shea butter and rice wax to keep lips soft.  For all of you who are aware that parabens may be linked to cancer risks, fear not - these are all paraben-free (and does not contain a whole slew of other chemicals).  They make me feel a bit more healthier, haha.

I am in love with the smell of these balms!  Jasmine smells like caramel but I'm saving it for now.
The texture of the pomegranate is my favourite : )  I was surprised when instead of feeling sticky on my lips - they felt like velvet. The staying power is sadly not very good.

I know you're probably thinking, woah these are bright.

[Quince - top, Pomegranate - bottom]
When you apply them, they're really quite sheer, but not too sheer that you can't see any color on your lips.  For me, I don't know whether my lips are too pigmented or if I've been putting these on with a heavy hand but instead of a hint of colour, they end up looking quite dark on me.  Can't say I'm loving that part.  I wish these contained spf and everytime I have to stick my finger into the jar, my fear of germy contamination starts to creep up.

Oh!  They can also double as cheek stains : )  Just dust some powder over them to keep them from making you look oily.  Overall, nice product with some minor flaws.  Perfect for Valentines or anytime!
